Writing Prompt #3

Write a diary entry, dated 10 years in the future.

Dear Diary,

Can you believe it’s 2035? Neither can I. Today is Sunday- my favorite day of the week. I’ve finally figured out how to truly rest on Sundays. Food is made and shared with our friends and family. Mass was beautiful and everyone behaved! Plants are watered, and now I’m sitting down to do some writing with a warm cup of tea. E is around here somewhere, he mentioned wanting to log onto a game when the little ones were down for a nap. Remember when people used to talk about “Sunday Scaries” years ago? I wonder if that feeling of dread will sneak up on me today. Sometimes it finds its way in no matter how much planning or prep I do on Friday and Saturday. I’d love to find a way to sit down with the top “Sunday Scary” and ask what they get out of making us all dread seeing the sun come up. I’d ask why we can’t just celebrate the fact that we woke up to see another day? Why Monday has to be the bad guy in so many stories? Uh oh, someone woke up from their nap early. TTYL
